Name: Moses Kigutak
Bio: Moses Kigutak was born on June 28th, 1983 in Iqaluit. Moses has lived his entire life in Arctic Bay. Moses is a grade 12 graduate from Inuujaq School and has graduated from a Pre Trades Carpentry course in Iqaluit. He has always been interested in carving because his father was one of Arctic Bay’s best carvers. It was not until he was in Greenland on a one year scholarship program that he started to take carving seriously. He carves in soap stone, antler and ivory. He carves large pieces and is also very good at making fine pieces of jewelry. Moses started carving because he found himself getting bored often and carving gave him something positive to do. He said when he carves the time just flies.
